How to Backup with Genie Outlook Express Backup Version 6.5 |
|
The backup job in Genie Outlook Express Backup 6.5 is divided into two different layouts in order to make the backup process as simple as possible.
You can switch between Easy Backup layout and Normal Backup layout by using the "Switch Layout" button in the main menu or by going to Preferences and clicking "Change Layout" in the "General Settings" window. |

| 1. Outlook Express Data |
- Multiple Identities: backup the multiple identities they have on their computers;
- Message Rules: backup: the user’s message rules created in Microsoft Outlook Express;
- All accounts: backup all accounts created on his Outlook Express including ISP and POP3 e-mail accounts, Internet news accounts or Directory service accounts;
- Preferences; backup the options the user selects and sets such as: notifications, displays, send/receive message options, read receipts, sending options and formats, maintenance preferences, etc.

- Block Senders: Since Microsoft Outlook Express allows the user to block certain addresses. Outlook Express Backup enables the user to backup and restore the list created in the “block senders” category;
- Signatures:
The signatures used at the end of email messages can also be backed up and restored using Outlook Express Backup;
- Stationery:
Stationery is a template that can include a background image, unique text font colors, and custom margins.

| 2. Windows Favorites |
| “Favorites” is a convenient way to organize the links to your frequently-visited favorite websites.
Outlook Express Backup offers the user the choice of backing up Windows Favorites folder. |
3. Internet Explorer Settings |
Outlook Express Backup enables the user to backup the following items: |
- Internet Explorer Settings:
These include home page, security, privacy, content, connections, programs, and advanced settings;
- Internet Explorer Cookies:
Cookies are small text files that some websites use to store information on your PC, among other reasons they are used sometimes to grant you access next time around to the website or for customization features.

| 4. Windows Address Book (WAB) |
The address book is where the contact information is stored. This information is used by programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft NetMeeting, and Microsoft Phone System.
Outlook Express Backup enables the user to backup Windows Address Book (with file extension .wab) which can be easily restored later to the same or to another machine. |

You can also backup any file you want by simply adding it to the Outlook Express Data on the "Backup Items" window |
